It started with one person’s faith and a few shipments. Today family, friends and a whole church help bring food and clothing to neighbors in need in La Coloma, Cuba. Empezó con la fe de una sola persona y unos pocos envíos. Hoy familiares, amigos y toda una iglesia ayudan a llevar alimentos y ropa a vecinos necesitados en La Coloma, Cuba.

Yelenis was born in La Coloma, Cuba. In 1999 she immigrated to the United States.Yelenis nació en La Coloma, Cuba. En 1999 emigró a Estados Unidos.
She started going to church. Her faith grew, and with it a wish to help the people of her hometown.Empezó a ir a la iglesia. Su fe creció, y con ella el deseo de ayudar a la gente de su pueblo.
Life’s responsibilities pushed the dream back, but it stayed close to her heart. In 2023 a family member introduced her to Pastor Juan Alberto Valle Rivero, who had served in ministry for more than twenty years. With her own funds she began sending shipments. Pastor Juan and his wife brought faithful church members together to receive them, find the families with the greatest needs, and hand out the donations.Las responsabilidades de la vida aplazaron el sueño, pero siguió en su corazón. En 2023 un familiar la puso en contacto con el Pastor Juan Alberto Valle Rivero, con más de veinte años de ministerio. Con sus propios fondos empezó a enviar cargamentos. El Pastor Juan y su esposa reunieron a miembros fieles de la iglesia para recibirlos, identificar a las familias con mayores necesidades y repartir las donaciones.
Family, friends and fellow church members began sending clothing and other donations too. The need was bigger than one person could carry, and in August 2025 Misión Coloma became an official nonprofit.Familiares, amigos y hermanos de la iglesia también comenzaron a aportar ropa y otras donaciones. La necesidad era mayor de lo que una sola persona podía sostener, y en agosto de 2025 Misión Coloma se constituyó oficialmente como organización sin fines de lucro.
Family, friends and church members give clothing and whatever else they can. A shipment is sent. Pastor Juan, his wife and the church receive it, sort it, and carry it to the families who need it most. Familiares, amigos y hermanos de la iglesia dan ropa y lo que pueden. Se envía un cargamento. El Pastor Juan, su esposa y la iglesia lo reciben, lo organizan y lo llevan a las familias que más lo necesitan.
